So what’s the big difference between the HO series of earth auger
attachments and the newer MD style of earth auger attachments??? Best
comparison to the question above would be to ask what the difference between a
½ ton pick-up truck and a 1 ton pick-up truck is. You know that both will haul
stuff in the bed or pull trailers of most any sort very effectively, but you
also know that if you use a truck in this way every day hauling larger loads
and heavy trailers, you better go with the 1 ton. Same exact thing could be
said about the differences between the HO series of drive units and the MD
series of drive units.

Here are some examples and comparisons:

The H019PD has been in production for 15 years now and has had
numerous upgrades to improve its durability. This unit serves as the gold
standard when it comes to industrial grade earth auger attachments. If you make
your living drilling holes or are in extremely tough conditions then this is
the series for you. We build 12 different models in this series to match up to
anything from Skid Steers to Large Excavators.

The MD18PD would be the comparable unit that matches up spec to
spec in terms of torque and rpm vs. the H019PD. The MD18 is the perfect earth
auger attachment for applications where the need of a truly industrial strength
earth auger attachment isn’t needed. Any contractor that is tired of renting an
earth auger once or twice a month, and would like a very reasonably priced
attachment then this is the series for you. Now just don’t think that because Premier
doesn’t call the MD series industrial grade that its some sort of cheap
imported P.O.S….. In fact these units are still all made in the USA and we
stand behind them with a worry free 3 year warranty. Now to point out one
difference that most all of our competition doesn’t like is the fact that the
MD units we build are of equal or better quality than their own “Extreme Duty”,
“Professional Grade”, “Heavy Duty” and even the OEM brands of earth auger
attachments.
